DISTORSION
Adding distorsion effects often has similar effect to extreme compression or limiting and squashes out the dynamic bounce of audio.  Add some side-chain ducking to inject the bounce back.

 CHOP IT UP!
When using loop chopping tools to chop up beats and riffs to import into your sampler, its always worth opening the new patch and manually tweaking the start points to give a much tighter and crisper feel.
 IGNORE THE RULES!
All hosts are designed to stretch your audio with the minimum of degradation, hence so many different quality stretching modes. To mangle your sounds, try choosing the wrong mode for your audio and avoiding Hi-q

 BAD BITS
A great way to create digitally degraded audio is to reduce the sample rate, then restore to its original rate and repeat the process. Or heavily time stretch a sample, then restore it to its original tempo.
